
Here is a composited image from a recent editorial spread. The backdrop was constructed with the help of a lunar diorama photographed at a museum. I was able to shoot from several angles to help with the building of the rest of the moon's surface. The rest was extended by painting and cloning certain areas. The model was photographed in studio and positioned(see below) to fit in the meteorite(I was lucky the museum had one that actually formed a type of chair!). Final adjustments were color correcting, highlighting light and shadow, and adding the little details like NASA camera registration marks, etc.
